Over the past 27 years, Pizza Hut® has sponsored the BOOK IT!® Program with a main goal of motivating students to read more and improve their reading skills in the process. Another goal we are passionate about is ending world hunger. Pizza Hut is a division of Yum! Brands, a company that has more than 36,000 restaurants around the globe. Working together we are making a difference. Since our World Hunger Relief initiative was established in 2007, we have raised nearly 115 million dollars that have gone directly to feeding people.
100% of all money raised for World Hunger Relief goes directly to feeding people and a majority of the funds support the School Feeding Program, which is run by the World Food Programme. This initiative provides school children with what is most likely the only meal they will be eating that day. One dollar has the power to feed four children through this program.
Last year, BOOK IT! readers raised more than $13,000 for World Hunger Relief, feeding 52,000 children! We would like to invite your students to help feed even more children this year. |
