November is National Novel Writing Month (aka NaNoWriMo) and even if your students are not ready to write The Hobbit, they can start working toward becoming the next great novelist. Reading and storytelling go hand in hand, and it is important to start practicing those skills early. We have created a selection of storytelling printables for you to use in your classroom. Younger students can tell you a story or draw a picture of the story they create. Older kids can write a few short sentences or paragraphs to tell a story based on the cards they draw. There are many different ways you can use these story cards to get students thinking. Share your ideas and your students’ stories with us on Facebook!
